Travertine

Tivoli tomorrow,
work today.

Posters are a luxury
on her pay.

In bold deco reds and gray:
forests, lakes, Bauhaus

letters proclaim
the cruelest Italian thing.

She flours her biscuit cup's rim.
One more dime she flings
on the rusted baking tray.
